So I have dish duty today, but after doing a load, I realized I was out of dish soap. Mega uh-oh. With 6 people in the house, and no dishwasher, lets just say it doesn't take long for dishes to accumulate. So I decided to get creative. I looked up a dish soap recipe, but most of them needed castile soap. Then I found this one:
1 bar Irish Spring soap
4 c. water
4tbsp. Borax
4tbsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. white vinegar
1/2 cup butter, oil, or lard
Then it rambled on with very complex directions that took forty five minutes to complete. Not to mention cooling time. By time it was done, I ended up with about 1/2 cup of dish soap. So, I ran the water, and poured some in.
-It didn't bubble.
-It made my dishes greasy
-It dirtied more dishes.
I guess this is when I go buy a bottle of Dawn. Oh well. I guess you learn something new every day.
